IPL Girl Will Hit/Kick You Where It Hurts Most

I could be sleeping, dreaming about Johnny Depp right now, but a certain blowfish (read editor) insists that I harp on about the IPL if I want to go out for dinner tonight. Go IPL Girl!, he says. So, I sell my soul for Pasta! Well, yes I am going to grumble all through this.

So, I hear that Dhoni got himself a look-alike. Mumbai-Indians batsman Saurabh Tiwari, the one who makes Sachin’s eyes twinkle, has got himself noticed. He has admitted that there could be no better talent hunting ground for cricketers than IPL. I am sure the IPL Rockstar team, and last time’s Ms. IPL Bollywood would agree. Or would she? For that matter, where is she? I do wonder though whether I will see him next playing for the country or dancing around trees.

Evidently playing domestic cricket is like doing K-serials, while IPL is the real item number one should vouch for. He has been quoted saying, “In domestic cricket, it all depends on the media coverage. If there are more media covering it, then your performance gets noticed”. Along with this, his resemblance to the Indian style icon, dedicated endorser and also part-time cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is sure to take him places. Both belong to Jharkhand and I hear that their batting style has some overlaps(doesn’t everyones?).

Tiwari’s strike rate of 146.95 and his scoring 159 runs has made Sachin proud. After all it was Sachin who had trusted this newbie and given him a chance to play ahead of senior players like Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. Expert with the bat, this young gun also has a diplomatic approach and a sweet-talking tooth(if there is anything like that). He made sure that he had right praises for all the right people. About Dhoni he said, “I have learnt a lot from him. He also talks about things other than cricket and how you should live life.”
