Kolkata Keep Their Chances Alive By Sweeping Royals

Buried Six Feet Under: Shane Warne Scrambles For The Light

It’s all happening in the IPL. Morning in Bangalore a blast occurred just minutes before the game started and Mumbai blasted Bangalore even in the game.

With Bangalore loosing the match and Kolkata winning the match, the points table has got a slight change as Kolkata still has a chance to make to the semis.

Ganguly’s inspiration has once again proved worthy as the Kolkata Knight Riders beat the Royals convincingly by 8 wickets. Watson been promoted to open was useful as he whacked the bowlers and Shane Warne could had done this job earlier.

With Watson and Pathan falling, the Knight Riders tightened the screws and with some decent bowling restricted the Royals to 131. Jaidev Unadkat was the peak among the bowlers as he got the variation and with crucial wickets was able to do the damage.

The Knight Riders needed to get off to a blazing start, but with McCullum and Gyale falling cheaply, the Royals looked to finish their campaign in style. Warne got the ball turn and it was a treat to watch the legendary leg spinner bowling such beauties.

Ganguly was never in a mood and unruffled his olden days to make sure he doesn’t address the media in a sad note. The King of off side was cramped for room, but he played an upish cover drive to settle scores.

Pujara joined Dada in the centre and poured all his experience to make sure they don’t loose this golden opportunity. They had wasted some in the past, but not this time. Voges was taken into task as Pujara whacked him for a six and then Dada.

The Eden Gardens went jubilant when Dada raised his bat and that was Dada at his best. In his entire cricketing carrer he had come across the pressure situations and in similar conditions at the Gardens, he played like a champion the entire day.

He dispatched Fazal for a huge six and then for a boundary, there by left Pujara to score the winning runs.

It’s all over for Warne and co. They end their IPL3 season in a loss and Warne wouldn’t have certainly loved.

The Royals after loosing initially came back strongly, but that was just not enough. One can’t say they didn’t play good cricket, but it’s just that their opponents played better.

One a given day any team can beat any and with Kolkata winning today the berths of semis except for Mumbai are still not reserved.

It’s a waiting list chart and the one who plays outstandingly along with good luck sneaks in to the semis.

But for the moment it’s time for some misthi dohi as its yet another Dada day.
