Winner Of IPL 2, Can They Repeat history

Its Mumbai vs Bangalore & Deccan vs Chennai

Finally, the air is cleared. Teams entering the semi final spot have been baffling but super Sunday set the points table and the all the teams qualifying the table deserve to be there.

Chennai taking on Punjab couldn’t restrict Punjab to a low total as Marsh blazed away Punjab to 192. They needed Hayden to fire, but the mongoose has still not eaten the snakes. Raina got to a good start but fell along with Vijay. Badrinath came with a fighting cameo, but it was captain courageous who went to win the match.

It was good to see Dhoni firing and soaking the pressure but on the other hand Hayden’s failure has been disappointing. Most importantly Chennai’s bowling has to strengthen.

They have got quality bowlers, but unfortunately almost all the bowlers are running out of form. They are been costly at the death overs, but Ashwin and Raina are able to roll their arms to stop the run flow.

Yesterday’s match has really set the tone for the upcoming clashes. Chennai’s win has got Dhoni;’s form back and it was important for him to be back with runs.

Now Chennai winning the match, the match between Delhi and Deccan came crucial as any team that would win the game would fly into the semis.

Your browser may not support display of this image. The Deccan Chargers didn’t start well as except for Symonds none came with runs. They some how managed to paddle the score till 145 and the way Sehwag was batting the target seemed too easy.

But Rohit Sharma with some brilliant catches set the tone and the bowlers bowled beautifully to push out Delhi out of the competition. The Hyderabadi’s truly deserve all the credit to be in Mumbai to play the semis.

They didn’t have a home ground but accustomed every ground to outplay the opposition. But they still have some concerns. Gilly is not in good touch, Gibbs inclusion in the crucial match will still be under doubt but Symonds is in good knick.

Their bowlers have done the duty and consistent performance will make sure the Defending Champions defend their titles.

Mumbai Indians have started their campaign fabulously and have made their announcement in the middle itself. The little master leading from the front, has been successful in leading the team to the semis.

Sachin Tendulkar who is now the leading run getter in this IPL will face a resurgent Bangalore.

Mumbai depended on Sachin a lot more, but in the last few games their batsmen are putting runs on board. Pollard is hitting the ball cleanly and with Rayudu and Sathish getting into act, they are a balanced side.

Mallinga along with Zaheer are bowling beautifully and most importantly Mumbai has been able to restrict teams chasing totals. Harbhajan too is in sublime touch and who knows another cameo from his bat can really make the difference.

Bangalore lost to Mumbai in the last game, but they are a dangerous team. They have got the fire pack and Uthappa along with Kohli are in great touch and Mumbai can’t afford to take them lightly.

Their bowlers are in terrific form and Kumble is getting his boys ready. So the Mumbai Indians will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the D.Y.Patil and it will be tough on the part of Bangalore to play in front of a noisy Mumbai crowd.

But one can’t rule them out completely as on a given day any team can beat any team. One big performance the game is gone. One big over the game is gone and who knows probably a super over can decide things.

Its almost five weeks that the war is on and finally top teams have qualified for the semis amidst speculations and as we move on to the next segment of the game, the teams are roaring loud Mumbai here we come.
